The Contrast PACS Solution is a highly scalable modern PACS solution handling workflow loads of less than 10000 studies per year to many millions of studies per year. The Contrast PACS solution is actually a tightly integrated mesh of many different applications and processes that work together as a whole to allow you to effectively capture, propogate, interrogate and manipulate, and finally disseminate studies throughout your radiology enterprise and associated referral communities. |

6 Great Reasons to Choose the Contrast PACS Suite |
1) It’s Modern and ScalableBecause the Contrast PACS has been designed and developed using the latest proven technologies, it can be scaled easily and grow with your organisation. It is built using the latest user interface technology and a multi-tiered web services architecture. Whilst this may not mean anything to you right now, you’ll benefit from day 1 right through to day 10000 with blinding performance, scalable infrastructure, and that easy to use, stable environment you have been yearning for. 2) It’s AffordableAs practicing clinicians and radiology informaticians, we at Contrast Imaging Solutions know that in order to realise the benefits of any PACS solution, you need to get it at the right price. One of the founding principles of Contrast Imaging Solutions is that the solution and the price need to adapt to your individual circumstances to ensure that you get value out of the solution. 3) It’s RobustThe Contrast PACS fixes itself! Yes, just like taking paracetamol for a headache, the Contrast PACS constantly monitors all facets of itself. Storage monitoring, process monitoring, and a number of other system maintenance tasks are always silently working for you to keep the Contrast PACS at its optimum. Should anything be of concern, it springs into action and alerts you immediately so the appropriate action can be taken before it becomes a problem. 4) It’s Highly FunctionalThe Contrast PACS solution is not just an image archiving solution, but manages all aspects of your workflow. From integration with your RIS for modality worklists and reporting, through to intelligent caching to the diagnostic workstations, the Contrast PACS can be tailored to meet any workflow efficiently. 5) It Handles ALL ModalitiesFrom the latest CT and MRI modalities, through to XRAY, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Mammography and Bone Densitometry, the Contrast PACS solution just works, irrespective of modality. Modalities can be configured to send in any one of a number of compression levels and formats and the Contrast PACS handles it all effortlessly. 6) It Has No BordersLike the internet, the Contrast PACS solution allows you to effortlessly report quickly and efficiently from anywhere that you have an internet connection. Studies are downloaded based on predefined, or your own custom criteria, so if you are out of town for the weekend, or need that beach holiday, but need to keep reporting, the Contrast PACS makes it easy for you through it’s native web architecture and intelligent caching technology. |

The Contrast PACS Image Server is the brain (or brains on multi-site installations) of the Contrast PACS solution. It communicates via DICOM with the equipment, and manages the storage and archival of the studies based on flexible pre-defined storage rules.
The Contrast PACS Study Browser is an intelligent study browser for standalone PACS installations (where there is no RIS integration). It is a powerful application that allows the reporting radiologist to retrieve studies from the Image Server ad-hoc, or in specific transfer syntax (compression). It also allows the searching of and filtering of study lists to ensure quick and easy access to the studies you are interested in. It also integrates with the Contrast PACS Diagnostic Viewer to automatically open the applicable studies. The Contrast PACS Modality Worklist allows modality technicians, radiographers and sonographers quick and easy access to the current work queues for a specific modality. This information flows from the RIS at the time the patient arrives at the practice and is instantly available in the modality worklist. The Contrast PACS Study Loader is a multi-site pre-caching utility that ensures that the images that need to be reported are ready and available for reporting as soon as they are finished within the modality. This module allows unprecedented flexibility in determining how images are cached to a diagnostic workstation, including custom transfer syntaxes and cleanup functionality. The Contrast PACS Directory Monitor is a module that can run on either a workstation or server, and monitors a specified location for any new studies/images that have been created by a non-Contrast system. This module pushes these images to the Contrast PACS Image Server and automatically creates/updates referrer and patient information from information within the DICOM tags.
The Contrast PACS Diagnostic Viewer is the most visible part of the Contrast PACS solutions. The Contrast PACS Diagnostic Viewer contains all the functions you would expect from a PACS Diagnostic Viewer, including a modern Office 2007-like interface for a smaller learning curve and easier customization of the interface to your own preferences. It includes the ability to define ‘hanging’ or reading protocols, which will allow you to easily define exactly how you wish specific modalities and even procedures to be displayed. In addition to this, the Contrast PACS includes CT image processing, which allows you to apply image presets, for the application of image processing algorithm that are similar to those produced by CT machines, thus avoiding the storage of multiple image windows and levels. For example, a CT Chest can be stored on Contrast PACS as a soft tissue series, and you can apply lung presets, bones presets and enhance presets to the images.
